Wind on the Hill

No one can tell me,
Nobody knows,
Where the wind comes from,
Where the wind goes.

It’s flying from somewhere
As fast as it can,
I couldn’t keep up with it,
Not if I ran.

But if I stopped holding
The string of my kite,
It would blow with the wind
For a day and a night.

And then when I found it,
Wherever it blew,
I should know that the wind
Had been going there too.

So then I could tell them
Where the wind goes…
But where the wind comes from
Nobody knows.

Confiding to Someone Who Secretly Hates You

Those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence. If you need help with a problem in your personal life, your family, or your career, or if you just need to vent just remember everyone you vent to isn’t trustworthy and could be secretly hating on you since day one.

5 Tips for Getting the Most out of Sharing Your Feelings

When considering whether to share your feelings with a specific person consider the following:

Is the person a good listener? Give thought to whether the person has listened well in the past, whether they maintain eye contact when you speak in person, whether they make “supportive sounds” when you speak in person or on the phone (oh, wow, gosh, tsk, sigh, etc.), and whether they avoid checking their phone when you’re at the most dramatic part of a story.

Is the person supportive? Or are they the type that says things like, “Just to play devil’s advocate for a moment,” and then take the other side? Ideally you should choose someone who will see things from your point of view, at least when you’re sad and looking for empathy.

Can the person offer empathy and emotional validation? Does the person tend to “get” how you feel? It’s important that someone you open up to not only sees things from your perspective, but is capable of expressing these perceptions as well. When someone can convey back to us an accurate understanding of how and why we feel the way we do, it has a powerful positive impact on our state of mind.

Is the person likely to make the talk about them? Some people are quick to offer support, but even quicker to follow it up with, “I know exactly how you feel—the same thing happened to me!” and then go off talking about themselves. Make sure to choose someone who’s willing to stay focused on your experience while you’re in pain.

Is the person loyal or secretly hating you? When we’re hurting, the desire to share can override our decision- making about whether the person is likely to keep our confidences and respect our privacy. Don’t forget to give thought to whether this person is likely to be as discreet and loyal as you expect and need them to be.

Learn to dissociate yourself from the critique, the mockery, the attack, the insult and any nasty thing, instead of associating yourself with it.

It’s hard and stressful to try to figure out people do and say the things they do and say.

Try to understand that whatever you go through, it doesn’t define you – IT CHALLENGES YOU!

Being liked by everyone is an illusory bliss, not a real one. You don’t need to be liked by everyone – you’re not a fragile porcelain cup that is going to fall apart only because some people mistreat you or secretly hate you.

How do you deal with people who secretly hate you is hard to do most of the time. Just minimize your relationship with them. It’s more than apparent that these people do not have your best interest at heart. You are just a means to an end. You are a stepping stone (at your expense) for them to use to get what they want in life.

Even if you cannot remove a person from your life — as is often the case with family members, people within your social circle, or coworkers — you can absolutely find ways to cope, so they cannot negatively impact you.

It is important to understand that not everyone will like you. If everyone you encountered liked you, it would probably mean you were not being your true, genuine self; because there are things in all of our personalities that will not appeal to some people, a natural dislike is inevitable.

Furthermore, some people will seem to dislike you even though it’s not personal. Sometimes, we have to perform necessary roles in the world, and people dislike their relationships within those roles.

For example, no one is thrilled to hear from a bill collector. As a result, it’s important to understand why people seem to dislike them.

Bottom line for me is to be true to who I am and don’t mistreat anyone. But when someone show me who they really are, I’ll feed them with a long handle spoon.

The Rose

Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature’s law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.

Funny it seems, but by keeping it’s dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.

Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.

Hands of a Warrior

Purple veins strain against the skin.
Pale, translucent, paper thin. Skinny fingers clawed in monstrous shapes, brown spots from years that she can’t erase.

Now wrinkled and fragile, weak and sore, so many things she can’t do anymore. Some days she feels she’s been betrayed by the cruelty of her advancing age.

She rubs her hands to ease the ache
And recalls the life they helped to make.
She looks at them and feels the loss,
Living a life bears a very high cost.

These hands that held her children near, that gently dried their salty tears.
Hands that held her husband’s tight,
That never let go against the fight.

Miraculous hands that protected and soothed. Hands, they conveyed her every mood. Hands so strong they could carry the weight, that would never give up and never forsake.

Those hands that took little but always gave, hands that applauded each achievement made. Those soft, sweet hands that gently cared, for those sick or lost in dark despair.

Hands that fussed and fumbled that day
Her husband gave their daughter away.
Those hands holding tight as he slowly died, caressing his brow as she stood by his side.

Hands that rocked her grandson to sleep, that gladly took over when others grew weak. Hands that once held everyone that she loved, and prayed for strength to our God above.

Hands that were always so willing to give, hands that reveal a life fully lived.
Small, feeble hands, now empty and cold, these hands that each day will keep growing old.

These hands she now tends to hide away, these hands that at times make her feel ashamed. Grotesque and useless in her eyes, they rest in her lap as she quietly cries.

But I see the hands of a hero so true, a woman who survived what this life put her through. A woman whose heart still shimmers like gold, with the hands of a warrior who made her mark on this world.

Relationship Goals

Good communication is an important part of all relationships and is an essential part of any healthy partnership.

All relationships have ups and downs, but a healthy communication style can make it easier to deal with conflict and build a stronger and healthier partnership.

We often hear how important communication is, but not what it is and how we can use good communication in our relationships.

Talk to each other. No matter how well you know and love each other, you cannot read your partner’s mind. We need to communicate clearly to avoid misunderstandings that may cause hurt, anger, resentment or confusion.

It takes two people to have a relationship and each person has different communication needs and styles. Couples need to find a way of communicating that suits their relationship. Healthy communication styles require practice and hard work. Communication will never be perfect all the time.

Be clear when communicating with your partner, so that your message can be received and understood. Double check your understanding of what your partner is saying.

Don’t Post Personal Matters On Social Media

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Let’s keep the Franklin family in our prayers…

Be careful what you share on social media because you never know when something could come back and ruin your life.

Social media is not the place to air your family business or personal grievances. If you want to complain about your boss, coworkers, or relatives, social media is a terrible place to do so.

It’s likely that someone will see it and let the person know, resulting in a messy situation. A lot of people use their social media accounts as a place to complain, for some reason.

As a healthier alternative, why not start a private journal where you can rant all you want? Or better yet seek counseling? Especially if you and all involved can not talk respectfully to each other.

Remember everyone has an opinion and some will judge. That’s life!

However you choose to do it, keeping your anger off the public square of social media is a smart idea. Situations most likely will be worse by doing so.

Everyone is going through something. Everyone. Whether you consider someone’s problem big or small is a personal opinion. What could be something insignificant to you could be breaking someone else’s heart.

This idea makes some people angry, which is understandable. Some people go through the worst of the worst while others seem to be coasting by. To you, your life may seem so much worse than someone else’s.

This may be true and it may be not. In actuality, no one actually knows what everyone around them is going through on a daily basis.

It’s simple: life isn’t fair. Some of our lives will be harder than others and that’s just the way it is. However, our experiences and the obstacles we overcome sculpt us into who we are.

Just find others ways of dealing with issues other than broadcasting it to the world.

Be Thankful For What You Have

Okay, let’s set the scene:
You’re a single parent with a child.
You work full time for $14.00 hr.

You bring home roughly $800.00 per paycheck.

Your bills: $1,000.00/rent, $150.00/electrical, $250.00/car payment, $150.00/car insurance.

So let’s do the math:
You bring home about $1,600.00 a month, & your bills average about $1,550.00.
(give or take)

You’re making it, but barely. This doesn’t even include groceries, internet, cable, cell phone, etc. (nor does it include child tax credit, or child support).

Now, it’s a really cold December and you get a power bill for $600.00. How do you pay that? To put it simply, you don’t. Because you can’t.

So your power gets shut off. But you know what your lease says? It says you get evicted if your utilities are terminated.

So now you’re in court crying to a judge who doesn’t care, & you have 10 days to get out.

Well you’re in luck, because you found somewhere with 3 days to spare, & it’s only $650.00 a month! But to get in, you must pass a background & credit check.
Which you can’t, because you just got evicted.

You’ve never been a criminal , but even if you could pass it, you’re looking at $1300.00 to move in, after paying the deposit & first month’s rent.

Time’s up…. Landlord shows up at 7am with the police & changed your locks.

So, now you’re living in your car with your 7 year old son & everything you need to get by.

You tried to get a storage unit, but you don’t have a billing address, so they won’t sell one to you. So you could only take what would fit in your backseat.

You pay to shower at local truck stops, & eat whatever can be cooked in a gas station microwave. Someone sees you & your son living like this & calls C.P.S.; guess what happens next?

They remove your child from your care. As if this isn’t devastating enough, you lose your job too. (Because “an employee losing their child reflects poorly on this company.”)

So now, you apply for an apartment with the region where the waiting list is 3 -7 years. Then you go into WalMart to put in an application.

When you get back to your car, you see that your back window has been smashed & someone helped themselves to your belongings.

Remember that it is December, & really cold. Now you have damage to your only shelter.

You call your car insurance , who says your deductible is $1,000.00 ~ AND ~ they’re going to increase your monthly rate since you’re now “high risk.”

You call the homeless shelter as a last resort….. & all their beds are full.

I’ll stop here….. Because I think you get the point. The people we work with everyday are these people. WE ARE THESE PEOPLE.

We are all so close to homelessness & don’t even realize it.

All it takes is:

  • one unexpected bill📃~
  • one fender bender🚙💥🚗~
  • one lay-off 📊~
  • one house fire 🏠🔥 etc.

Instead of talking trash about people who are poor, homeless, or need assistance, why don’t you try being grateful that you’re not in their shoes …… YET!

This is about staying humble & being kind.

BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE ❤

Competition

I just aim to improve to be better and do better than before.

Competition arises whenever two or more parties strive for a common goal which cannot be shared: where one’s gain is the other’s loss.

Competition includes rivalry between entities such as organisms, individuals, economic and social groups, etc.

The rivalry can be over attainment of any exclusive goal, including recognition:, leadership, market share, niches and scarce resources, territory, or what is going on in the minds of other people.

Monologue for an Onion

I don’t mean to make you cry. I mean nothing, but this has not kept you from peeling away my body, layer by layer,

The tears clouding your eyes as the table fills with husks, cut flesh, all the debris of pursuit. Poor deluded human: you seek my heart.

Hunt all you want. Beneath each skin of mine lies another skin: I am pure onion–pure union of outside and in, surface and secret core.

Look at you, chopping and weeping. Idiot. Is this the way you go through life, your mind a stopless knife, driven by your fantasy of truth,

Of lasting union–slashing away skin after skin from things, ruin and tears your only signs of progress? Enough is enough.

You must not grieve that the world is glimpsed through veils. How else can it be seen? How will you rip away the veil of the eye, the veil

That you are, you who want to grasp the heart of things, hungry to know where meaning lies. Taste what you hold in your hands: onion-juice,

Yellow peels, my stinging shreds. You are the one in pieces. Whatever you meant to love, in meaning to you changed yourself: you are not who you are,

Your soul cut moment to moment by a blade of fresh desire, the ground sown with abandoned skins. And at your inmost circle, what? A core that is

Not one. Poor fool, you are divided at the heart, lost in its maze of chambers, blood, and love, a heart that will one day beat you to death.

Happiness Is An Inside Job

If you thought money was the key to happiness, you thought wrong… 🤔

1. Instant Gratification– This is what having money gives you, Instant happiness. But what happens when that feeling subsides and you are back to being unhappy? Happiness is an inside job, that’s why!

2. It Doesn’t Fix Relationships– In fact when you throw money into a relationship, it can either make it or break it. It is one of the #1 things couples argue about! So believe me when I say, just because you have money does NOT mean you are guaranteed to have a healthy relationship!

3. Root Of All Evil- It has long been said that it is the root of evil, but why? Well most of the world’s problems have ALWAYS been because of money! Wars have been started over it. Money = Power The more money you have the more power you have and with power comes greed, ego, corruption and more! You see where I am going with this?

4. Mental Illness- People who suffer with depression or anxiety disorders tend to think if they had more money they would be happier. But this is false. This is a disorder or chemical imbalance that needs to be treated the right way. Money can’t fix that!

5. Friendships- Money and friendships do not mix. Lending or borrowing money from friends can have some serious consequences. Lot’s of friendships have been destroyed because of money. Also if you have A LOT of money you can attract the ‘wrong’ kind of friends, if ya know what I mean!

6. Family- Same as friendships, money and family don’t mix!

7. Studies- There are many studies on the Psychology of Money and Happiness.

8. Things- If you have a lot of money, you can buy a lot of the things, but those ‘things’ will only make you happy for a little while. When the happiness is gone you start chasing it again with materialistic delusions of happiness. It won’t work. It’s called a delusion for a reason!

9. Never Enough– No matter how many things you have or money it will never be enough! It’s human nature. We want something, we get it, and then we want more, bigger, better! Its almost the definition of insanity. You keep going and going, chasing a feeling that nothing you “buy” will ever truly give you!

10. Peace- You can’t buy it, only attain it once you learn to come to peace with your decisions in life. We only get what we give!

True Love

Love can always conquer
Whatever discord brings
and love can also cover
a multitude of things.

Don’t you underestimate
what love can ever do,
for love is God eternal
and His love can renew.

What is cold and lifeless,
now lost all hope and died,
for love can breathe new meaning
and give it back new life.

Please don’t give up on love
when it seems that all is lost,
for there is always hope
if we’re prepared to pay the cost.

For love is always worth it
no matter how much the price,
for love will be much stronger
when we trust in Jesus Christ.

So let God have full reign,
let Him live within your heart
then you will know true love,
for this He will impart.

Your Soul Deserves Peace

How do you forgive someone who took your love, kindness, and friendship (this includes your significant other) then used it against you?

Befriending you and secretly hating you is the worse kind of betrayal that can scar you for life.

People that get caught up in this type of drama should not blame themselves for the evil and mean-spiritedness that are in the heart of some people.

You were being true to who you are, but they had an ulterior motive. Forgive them and pray to God for comfort and strength and move on with your life.

You deserve to feel peaceful and move on with your life. You deserve to heal. You deserve to feel whole again and welcome new relationships in your life.

All the things that happened to you will make sense in the end. You don’t have to have it all figured out or stress about it or dwell on it right now.

Your Children

Your children learn from you.
You’re nice, they are nice.
You’re nasty, they are too.
You’re happy, they are happy.
You’re sad, they are sad.
Your kids copy you, this is not genetic – its learned.
They’re taught by you.
Think about it.
Be a better person to create better people……
It starts with You.💜👊🏻

Be The Best Of Whatever You Are

If you can’t be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a scrub in the valley — but be
The best little scrub by the side of the hill;
Be a bush if you can’t be a tree.

If you can’t be a bush be a bit of the grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can’t be a muskie then just be a bass —
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can’t all be captains, we’ve got to be crew,
There’s something for all of us here,
There’s big work to do, and there’s lesser to do,
And the task you must do is the near.

If you can’t be a highway then just be a trail,
If you can’t be the sun be a star;
It isn’t by size that you win or you fail —
Be the best of whatever you are!

The Three C’s Of Life

What you wear in the morning, who you associate yourself with, what you want to do with your life, it is all a choice.

reason | season | lifetime

You only regret the chances you never take. You may fall, you may make a fool of yourself, and you may make a mistake.

If it’s not working out, keep it moving…

It takes a single spark. It takes one choice, one moment of courage, to change your life.

One moment can lead to the greatest experience of your life, the greatest friends, the love of your life, the job of your dreams.

Without a little struggle, you’ll never stumble across your success.

Sometimes people won’t support your choices, your chances, and the new person you’ve become because you’ve changed.

Wisdom

Meaning… 🤔

To feed only one would starve the other and they will become uncontrollable. To feed and care for both means they will serve you well and do nothing that is not a part of something more significant, something good, something of life.

Feed them both, and there will be no more internal struggle for your attention. Moreover, when there is no battle inside, you can listen to the voices of more profound knowledge that will guide you in choosing what is right in every circumstance.

Peace, should be one of our mission in life. A man or a woman who has peace inside has everything. A man or a woman who is pulled apart by the war inside him or her has nothing.

How you choose to interact with the opposing forces within you will determine your life. Starve one or the other or guide them both.

Choose wisely! ✌

Happy Easter

Resurrection Sunday

Good Morning 🙏 Hope All Is Well

Happy Easter to all this beautiful and blessed morning!

Every day we have on Earth is a good day. We just have to learn to live instead of barely existing.

This past year has been extremely difficult and bizarre with loads of hate, negativity, and selfish people all around us.

It feels like EVERYTHING has hit the wall all at once and we’re left trying to figure out how to make sense of it all.

There’s this sense of loss – whether it’s death of love ones, hopes, dreams, friendships, self-esteem, future plans, chronic pain, etc., now feels replaced with uncertainty.

If you are feeling this way (as I do from time to time, especially this past year) now is the time to take a P.A.U.S.E.

P = pray – Pray daily; pray for healing, understanding, and for each other.

A = acclaim – Praise and worship Him and celebrate your life with purpose.

U = unconditional – Show unconditional love for yourself and others.

S = smile – That’s the start of opening your heart and being compassionate to others.

E = earnest – Show sincere and intense conviction in what you hold true in your heart.

I believe that if we take time out to P.A.U.S.E. daily that we can break through any wall that we may encounter.

Not to say we won’t see another wall, but now we have the equipment and knowledge to break through.

I’m getting off my soap box for now 😊 but sincerely this was on my heart to share on this Resurrection Sunday!

Let’s be loving and compassionate towards ourselves and others. #BePositive🎯

Wishing y’all an awesome, blessed, healthy, productive, and safe day and week!!! And don’t forget to P.A.U.S.E.

💃🌴😷❤✌
